For anyone who loved the 1984 movie, The Karate Kid, they can now relive all of those great memories. On June 11, 2010, The Karate Kid remake will open throughout the United States. This remake by Columbia Pictures features Will Smith’s son, Jaden Smith, as 12 year old Dre Parker and Jackie Chan as the new Mr. Myagi, known now as Mr. Han. Set in China, The Karate Kid remake is the story of Dre Parker’s adjustment to his new environment after leaving Detroit, and his challenge to learn Kung-Fu from his quirky mentor and Kung-Fu master, Mr. Han.
